56315 during conversion at St Rollox to 99900. The car was still in it's experimental livery. A replacement front window has been fitted in the front saloon. March 1975. Ken Barnes.

56315 at St Rollox for it's conversion to 99900. The car was still in it's experimental livery, but this shows that a blue stripe was also tried as well as the earlier orange stripe, this one having the BR Logo below rather than on the stripe. March 1975. Ken Barnes.

Class 101 DMCL SC50745 in Glasgow Works, the cause of the damage is unknown. The slide process date is February 1976, the vehicle was withdrawn on the 16th of that month. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Class 101 SC50745 Glasgow Works 26 November 1977. After suffering severe collision damage. There's a Class 303 EMU power car behind it which doesn't look too healthy either. In the line behind there is another Met Cam unit in the original unsuccessful white refurbished livery. Alistair Ness.

Stabled in the BREL Glasgow Works yard Inverness based DMSL SC51792 has arrived for repairs / overhaul. The 'stretcher window' is clearly visible, the front passenger window behind the cab, which was hinged at the top to permit a person on a stretcher to be placed inside the coach straight from a platform. Also visible behind is Inverness allocated Class 120 TSLRB SC59683 which is still labled as a 'Buffet Car' complete with a red cantrail section denoting it's position. Bob Woolnough.

Refurbished Class 101 DMBS SC51447 is seen burnt out in the yard at BREL Glasgow Works on the 2nd April 1978. Refurbished and restored to traffic during July 1977 SC51447 was unfortunately destroyed by fire in Cowlairs Carriage Sidings, Glasgow on the 4th September of that year. Withdrawn the same month, she was eventually cut up at Glasgow Works 2 years later during September 1979. Bob Woolnough.

A view across the traverser inside BREL Glasgow Works on the 3rd June 1978 finds Class 122 DMSL SC55007 undergoing refurbishment in between an unknown Class 107 and a Class 101 driving car. An Ayrshire based Class 126 DMSL driving vehicle is on the far right of the image. Bob Woolnough.

Hamilton, Glasgow based Class 122 DMBS SC55007 is inside BREL Glasgow Works on the 3rd June 1978 high up on accommodation bogies undergoing a major refurbishment with the plating around the original 2 panel route indicator clearly visible. Transferred to Departmental service in December 1983 as TDB977223 she was finally scrapped at BREL Glasgow Works during June 1991. Bob Woolnough.

Inverness TMD based Class 120 DMSL SC51793 waits outside in BREL Glasgow Works Yard on the 3rd June 1978 for a call inside for overhaul. The opening 'stretcher' window behind the drivers cab is very clear in this image as is what appears to be a repair list written at the top of the secondmans window. Officially withdrawn in April 1986 whilst stored at Glasgow Shields Road EMD, she was scrapped at Vic Berry's Yard in Leicester the same month. Bob Woolnough.

A visit to Glasgow Works on 13th January 1979. As usual, the visits commenced at 14.30 and by the time we had been walked around the works interior and then let loose to roam the yards outside there was very little daylight left. In the foreground is Swindon SC51028 which caught fire at Lochside in April 1977 and was immediately withdrawn. It faces Clayton 8598. Murray Liston.
